More about the Viola

The viola is a string instrument that is similar to the cello, double bass and viola. Although it looks similar to the violin, it is slightly larger. It is mainly used for the alto (medium) voice of the string family but can also produce high tones. The viola has four string, C, G, D, and A. We play the viola by plucking or bowing the strings. The viola originated in Italy in the mid 1500s.
