About
the K-8 School Program at Music Play Patrol
Music Play Patrol specializes in providing general music enrichment services to private and charter grade schools. We can provide in-person programming for K-8 classes in the Philadelphia and New Jersey regions, or virtually for grades K-5.
Each class is 30 minutes and is based on the Pennsylvania and National Association for Music Education standards. Our general music curriculum focuses on four concepts:
- Music Appreciation (develop an appreciation of music and composers for various genres of music)
- Vocabulary (introduction of music terminology based on grade level)
- Technology (Integrating the use of technology in the curriculum to enhance learning experience)
- Demonstration/Activity (students experiencing the music directly through a demonstration from the instructor and student exploration)

Program features
Our program may change due to COVID-19 restrictions
- Every MPP staff member has earned or is in the process of earning a degree in music education or a related field
- Our curriculum consists of four components: Music Appreciation, Vocabulary, Technology, Instrument Demonstration
- Our curriculum is based on National Association of Music Education standards
- We travel to locations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland
- We offer live Zoom classes and prerecorded content through our streaming services, Virtual Play Patrol
- MPP instructors are great educators and performers giving our clients a unique high quality experience
